It looks like Death Stranding 2: On the Beach may not remain a PlayStation 5 exclusive for very long. Although the sequel launched only in June as a PS5-first title, a potential PC version has now surfaced — and it wasn’t through an official announcement.
A listing for Death Stranding 2 has appeared on the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) website, rated “M for Mature.” Unlike the existing PS5 entry already rated on the board, this new listing specifically references a PC version, strongly hinting that Kojima Productions’ latest title is heading to PC sooner than expected.
While neither Kojima Productions nor Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed the port, the ESRB leak adds weight to speculation that the game could arrive on PC as early as 2026 — roughly a year after its console debut. This follows a familiar timeline: the original Death Stranding launched on PS4 in late 2019 and came to PC less than a year later in mid-2020, before receiving a PS5 Director’s Cut in 2021 and later releases on Apple silicon devices and Xbox Series S/X.
It is not yet known whether 505 Games, who handled the PC port of the first title, will be involved again.
Meanwhile, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach continues to make noise in the industry. The game is a major contender at The Game Awards 2025, earning seven nominations including Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, and Best Score and Music. The sequel continues the journey of Sam Porter Bridges as he attempts to reconnect a fractured post-apocalyptic world — this time spanning Mexico and Australia.
While fans wait for official confirmation, the ESRB listing leaves little doubt: a PC version of Death Stranding 2 is almost certainly on the horizon.
